Eco-poetics

Nuance and syntax in a bush idiom:

Eco-poetics was an open-ended, process-based project of collaboration and trust. Two initial events were followed by regular site-visits.

27 June – 4 July, 1998.              
On-site events at a twenty acre bushland site 70km north of Sydney including performances or installations by local and overseas artists who participated either in person or by sending concepts and DIY instructions.

5 July
11am – 5pm.
One day symposium at Artspace, Sydney. The symposium featured
speakers. performances and a presentation of works ‘in the bush’. Its purpose was to reflect upon on processes involved in collaborative projects of this kind, and strategies of engagement by independent artist led organisations.

As part of their program, Artspace also presented a multi-monitor installation of real time video recordings made at Dog Trap Road during Eco-poetics.
